Having mucous in the mouth or bubbling out of the pits of a snake is a sign that they are already ill.

When Does a Snake Fart? Snakes don’t fart much because they’re strict carnivores, whereas humans get the majority of their gas from eating plants. Snakes lack the gut bacteria necessary to decompose plants in a way that results in gas production.
