Getting children to eat the correct foods, on the other hand, appears to be an ongoing battle. Putting braces could make things much more complicated. Braces can be difficult on the teeth and gums if they are not properly cared for, perhaps developing gum disease or increasing the risk of cavities. As a result, avoiding foods that can bend the wires and harm the braces is a crucial part of receiving speedy and effective orthodontic treatment.
Any form of the chip should be avoided, whether it’s Corn Nuts, tacos, potatoes, or vegetables. Better yet, anything that makes an audible crunch when eating should be avoided because it can harm the braces. Nuts of any kind should be avoided during orthodontic treatment. They can bend wires and ruin braces while being quite nutritious and a good supply of nutrition. Smooth nut butter is preferable, but crunchy varieties should be avoided.
Apples, carrots, and corn on the cob. Fresh fruits and veggies are among the healthiest foods for kids and teens to consume…but they’re also often their least favorite! However, just because kids wear braces doesn’t mean they can’t eat these vitamin-rich foods. Rather, chop them up into bite-size pieces or boil them to remove the crunch. Make careful to cut the corn off the cob for corn-on-the-cob, a summertime favorite. It is therefore quite acceptable to eat while wearing braces.
