Tap water can be used. Because our local water doesn’t taste good, I usually use the filtered water from my refrigerator. To improve the flavor of the coffee, the instructions suggest using filtered water, but I would expect any coffee maker to suggest this as well. 2 people found this to be helpful.

Keurig 1.0 models can only be used with distilled water. It’s not possible to use distilled water in Keurig 2.0 models because the sensors inside are not sensitive enough to work with it.
