Do not wear makeup during laser eye surgery. No eye makeup should be worn for at least 24 hours prior to surgery. You should not wear any perfumes/aftershaves.

This is to protect the skin from infection during healing. The instructions will detail which ointments you should use to protect your skin, and how often to use them.
Patients should pay attention to our advice and refrain from wearing makeup after laser skin removal unless they have given their approval. This lowers the chance of infection and other complications. After the peeling phase, you will feel rejuvenated and refreshed.
Laser hair removal is achieved by small, high-heat beams of light. Side effects may include skin irritation or pigmentation changes.
Redness and irritation:
Laser hair removal can cause temporary irritation. There may be some reddening and swelling around the treated area. These effects are not severe. These effects are common for other methods of hair removal like waxing.
To minimize the effects, your dermatologist may apply a topical numbing cream before you start the procedure.
The procedure should cause no more irritation than a few hours. If you have side effects that are more severe than mild irritation, or if symptoms persist, it is important to contact your doctor immediately.
Pigmentation changes:
You may notice a difference in your skin tone after laser treatment. Light skin is more likely to experience laser hair removal. People with darker skin may experience lighter spots after the procedure. These changes, similar to skin irritation, do not usually cause for concern.
“After laser treatments, the skin’s barrier is more vulnerable and susceptible to external, ultraviolet, and microbial influences that can result in pigmentation and infection if not taken care of properly”.
