Carpenter ants: Ant droppings resemble soft, fibrous pieces of wood and fecal matter loosely compacted, unlike drywood termite droppings, which consist solely of fecal matter. Frass is a mixture of wood particles, feces, dirt particles, and even parts of dead ants that have been discarded by ants.
