Raccoons can chew and scratch their way into attics once they’ve climbed a roof. It is possible that they will chew and scratch at a small opening in a soffit or under an eave until it is large enough for them to pass through and gain access to the attic.

How did raccoons get in my attic?

When different building materials come together, they find their way into the attic through vents or by ripping off fascia or shingles. By ripping apart vents, soffits, and roofing, raccoons can infiltrate homes and buildings and cause extensive damage.
