How much does eyebrow transplant cost?

Writer Caleb Butler

What is an eyebrow transplant?

Eyebrow transplant is basically a cosmetic surgery /procedure, just like a hair transplant process through which hair grafts and follicles are inserted into your brow area. New hair will grow from these plugs. Finally, your eyebrows will look thicker and fuller.

Pros and cons

This process is usually completed in two to three hours. This is just like a blessing for those who have light to no eyebrows. Also, the hair looks so natural because these are actually your own hair.

On the other hand, this short process of eyebrow transplant shows its final results in several months. However, sometimes it does not show any result due to no follicle activation. Consequently, no hair growth at all.

After the surgery, the expected recovery process is fairly quick. The transplanted hair may fall off after a few weeks, which is part of the process. Then finally, it will take several months to reveal the final results.

The cost of the eyebrow transplant

This transplant procedure is nonmedical and cannot be claimed by health insurance companies. Its price varies according to the need of the client, the service provider, or the location where you live. Hence, an average estimated cost of eyebrow transplant ranges from $3,000 to $6,000 that will cover the fees for service itself, surgeon, and anesthesiologist.

Another potential cost should be in the customer’s mind, like If a patient needs to transplant some more follicles after the full procedure to get thicker eyebrows. In that case, other follicles transfer after the recovery from the first surgery will cost you an additional fee.

Although the health insurance does not cover the fees for the eyebrow transplant, it might be covered in case of disease or injury. It means if the transplant is necessary due to hair loss as a result of some disease or accident, the insurance company may cover the cost, including doctors’ visit copays and coinsurance from 10 to 50 percent of the procedure.
