How much does it cost to get fangs?

Writer Emily Cortez

Are fangs temporary or permanent?

Fangs are implanted for aesthetic purposes, specifically for fantasy events. They will not benefit from chewing or using teeth. The fangs are usually fitted over your original tooth. These are often plastic-made and movable like the ones people use on Halloween. However, some people who like strange or unique body mutations get them permanently implanted. The permanent ones are implanted by placing a permanent cap over the tooth after filling the teeth down.

How much does it cost?

The cost of getting the fangs may vary according to the type and facility provider. A temporary removable type will cost you around $100 per fang. In comparison, the dentist may charge you from $800 to $2,500 for a pair of fangs.
The price of synthetic vampire teeth may be less than $10 for a single piece, which is typically used to complement the costume and outlook during Halloween.

Nevertheless, the custom-made caps may cost you from $2,000 to $5000. These are usually the most expensive fangs, which can be taken off but look as good as the permanent set. Furthermore, the cost may vary depending on the bite and placement of the fangs, such as in the corner of the center.
Things to know:

  • Fangs are just for a fancy look and are not sharp enough to bite or rupture the skin.
  • This process is a cosmetic procedure, so the health insurance company will not cover it.
  • It will be hard to chew or talk in the early days after implanting the teeth. However, with time, you will be used to this new installation.
  • People with gum disease, rotten teeth, or any other serious problem in the mouth are not suggested to go through the procedure.
  • There are chances of malocclusion development or irritation to the lower lip or the gums where the fangs will sit.
