How to build a bio ethanol fireplace

Writer Robert King

Ethanol fireplaces let you make the ambience of a fire, without the gas or wood fireplace needs. This short installation guide will demonstrate how simple it is to install an ethanol fireplace in the wall. Installing an ethanol-fireplace that is recessed could be done by yourself provided you have basic carpentry skills. But, we recommend hiring an expert (carpenter) who will ensure that the fireplace is built to all safety guidelines. The following five stages are usually followed during installation, but they may vary somewhat from project to project.

1. CUT AN ENTRANCE IN THE WALL.

The dimensions of the opening is determined in the installation manual for the fireplace you have chosen. The typical opening should be 4″ wider and 2-1/2″ higher than the top to the wall (including burners that hang at the lower portion on the back of the fireplace). This enables faster installation, improved air circulation, and the evacuation of heated air.

2. BUILD WALLS ON THE INSIDE OF THE ENTRANCE.

The recess’s walls inside the opening must be constructed from the same material or in lining with non-flammable material such like wonder boards, cement board and steel sheets. Frame the recess with metal studs.

3. SET UP THE BRACKET (S).

Brackets that are needed for the fireplace. They connect your fireplace with the walls. Refer to the manual of the fireplace for instructions on how to position the fireplace.

4. PLACE THE FIREPLACE IN THE CENTER.

Place the fireplace in the aperture and then into the brackets.

5. PLACE THE BURNERS.

The majority of recessed ethanol fireplaces have separate burners for their fireplace body. It is essential to put the burners inside the burning chamber inside the body of the fireplace.

Here you go. We’ve covered the basic five steps to install an ethanol fireplace that is recessed in the wall. Depending on the manufacturer and the installation, it may be somewhat different.
