How to change cmos battery in lenovo laptop

If you’ve had your laptop for many years there’s a chance that your computer has been faulty due to the fact that the CMOS battery has died. It’s a component of hardware that is exclusive to laptops. If it goes out of service it can make your computer experience issues when it comes to booting.

Step 1: Keyboard

You can remove the Phillips thumbscrew #0-6mm from the lid of the laptop. Slide the cover back, then lift it off the system.

Step 2:

Make sure you pull the lock’s batteries to your left to open. As you hold the tab in the locked position, take the battery out of the way.

Step 3:

Take off the Phillips #0-6mm screws from the back of the panel. The screws are identified by a keyboard icon on them.

Step 4:

Flip the computer upside down and lift the lid. Place the small spudger made of metal across the top of the resting place and between it and your keyboard.

Step 5:

The keyboard can be lifted up, However, be cautious not to remove it completely. Be careful not to take your keyboard off too quickly There’s an extension cable that you need to unplug first. Place the plastic opening tool beneath the copper band, then tilt it back. Replace the keyboard with the keyboard.

Step 6: CMOS Battery

Take the backup battery gently from under the front panel.

Step 7:

Attach the black connection piece, then remove the battery that is used as a backup.

Another tip to change the CMOS/BIOS battery:

Remove the CMOS Battery Cover. Disconnect the CMOS Battery Cable. Make use of a sharp edge of an instrument made of plastic to remove the battery. This is a Lithium Battery, 3.0 Volts Model CR2032, however, it’s also filled with wires.
