How To Clean RV Toilet?

Writer Caleb Butler

Cleaning the RV toilet is different than cleaning the toilet at home. The bathroom in an RV is crucial regardless of whether you’re an occasional wanderer or a frequent wanderer. If the RV’s toilet stops functioning normally, it’s an absolute pain to search for a bathroom when you’re out and about. Don’t forget about the smell that surrounds the vehicle and makes it difficult to enjoy a great time in your RV.

Dish Soap for Cleaning RV

Dish soap is an effective and efficient cleaner that will clean the toilet effectively. For this take these steps.

Combine dish soap with water. Place 2 cups of water and 1 cup dish soap in the bucket and mix well.

Pour some of the cleaners into your bowl. One-half of the cleaner will be sufficient to clean the inside. The remainder of the soap is to be put in the bucket for cleaning the exterior.

Cleanse the inside. Use a soft tool to move the cleaner over the inside and then gently rub the stains away using the motions of side to side.

Clean the exterior. Use the remaining cleaner to thoroughly wash the exterior.

You are done cleaning the bowl. If it’s been a while since you last cleaned it, this is the perfect opportunity to scrub the blade seal and then lubricate it.

Safe Cleaning Tools and Cleaners

When cleaning your toilet at home, be sure to beware of harsh chemicals. Acids or bleach can cause damage to the rubber seal of your toilet, and also damage the plastic that is in your blackwater tank as well as the bowl.

Additionally, harmful gasses generated by the chemicals could accumulate in the blackwater tank. There are cleaners that are specifically designed for RV toilets and use gentle chemicals or safe bacteria to cleanse your toilet.

Cleaning an RV toilet, it’s advised to use only safe cleaners. They include ones specifically made to be used in the toilets in RVs. However mild cleaning agents, such as mild acids like citric acid and vinegar, baking soda, mild dish soap, are efficient.
