How to do dual screen on Samsung s8

Writer Robert King

Samsung has had a Multi Window mode for a long time, and the Galaxy S8 takes advantage of it with its extra-long 18.5:9 display. The S8 has a 5.8-inch display, while the S8+ has a 6.2-inch display, so there is plenty of areas to resize two apps and use them simultaneously.

The component offers altogether more usefulness than what’s incorporated naturally on Nougat, and albeit each application doesn’t uphold Multi Window mode, you can undoubtedly see the ones that do from the performing various tasks sheet. The steps for setting up and using Multi Window mode on the Galaxy S8 are outlined below.

Long-pressing the Recents key while in an app is the quickest way to activate Multi Window mode. To do so, however, you must first enable the feature in the settings:

  • From the app drawer or the home screen, go to Settings.
  • Select Advanced Features from the drop-down menu.
  • Select Multi window from the menu.
  • Select Use Recents from the drop-down menu.
  • With Multi Window, choose the view you want to utilize.
  • When you choose Split screen view, the app you are now using will automatically resize to occupy the upper half of the screen. You can select a portion of the program to dock to the screen with the Snap window. If the app you want to utilize in Multi Window is already open, simply press and hold the Recents key to resize it, then choose the second program.
  • Drag across the middle line to resize both windows.
  • Snap Window provides similar functionality, but you may specify which sections of the app should be docked to Multi Window:
  • Select the Snap window option from the recent apps menu.
  • Choose whatever part of the app you wish to utilize and then click Done.
  • From the recent menu or the More apps option, choose the second app you want to utilize.
