The levels mark the location of one cabinet’s edge. Tapered wood shims can be driven between the floor, base, and vanity to adjust and level it.

Bathroom vanities are usually larger than 32 inches. As this is the height of your bathroom vanity, we recommend choosing between 36-40 inches tall. For freestanding designs, you can’t go wrong with this section.

These are placed off the ground so that you can determine how much space to leave below.

Step 1: Assemble your Cabinet:

You can assemble a cabinet that you bought pre-assembled. To properly place the cabinet, you will need to know its dimensions. Once it is assembled, these dimensions can be found here. To make it lighter and more maneuverable, take out all drawers. You can check the horizontal line by using a level. It might not be horizontal enough to match the cabinet.

Step 2: Cut out the plumbing:

However, if the drain and valves are very close together it is better to cut a rectangle through which all of them will fit with a reciprocating saw. Use a hole saw to make holes that are larger than necessary. This will allow for adjustments in the cabinet’s location. If the back of your cabinet is not covered, skip this step.

These marks will be needed to attach the vanity to your wall.

Place the vanity cabinet inside the outline and verify that it is level. Bathroom vanity cabinets often have adjustable feet that can be used to adjust the level so that the bubble is in the right direction. Tap wooden shims underneath the vanity base to level it if there aren’t adjustable feet.

Step 3: Attach the Bathroom Vanity to a Wall:

At each intersection with a stud, drill pilot holes of 1/8 inch through the backside of the cabinet. Each hole should be drilled and a screwdriver into the stud. Two-and-a-half-inch screws are usually sufficient. Use a utility knife to trim any shims that are not flush with the cabinet.
