How to open oil cap?

Writer Ethan Hayes

Pry the oil bottle out with the spoon’s edge. The oil bottle should be held by the neck using your hand that is not dominant to ensure that there’s a minimum of 1 inch (2.5 centimeters) between you and your cap. Set the edge of the spoon made of metal beneath the cap, and then rest the handle on your palm. The handle should be pushed down to pull the cap from the oil bottle.

Make sure you use an object that will not break or bend when you press on it.

Take a pair of scissors and open them halfway, so that the blades create a V-shape. Then, place the point at which the blades meet under the cap of the oil bottle. Pull the handles downwards and gently squeeze them to off the oil bottle. Then, remove the cap.

You could also take a knife and cut along the ridges of the cap till it breaks out of the oil bottle.

Make sure that the scissors are not pointed at you so that they don’t harm you if they fall.

Place the handle of a claw hammer to grip under the cap of the oil bottle. When the cap is removed put the hammer away and relax with your drink.

Be cautious not to apply excessive force or you may cause damage to the oil bottle

Try twisting off the cap using a rubber band or cloth. Use a cloth or rubber band around the cap of the oil bottle several times until you are able to get the cap in a secure position. The cap should be rotated counterclockwise you can loosen it and test if it slips off. The additional force from the rubber band could cause the cap to spin away from the oil bottle.

Place the cap of the oil bottle against your countertop, and then take off the cap. Place the cap’s edge cap on your counter and then turn the oil bottle at an angle of 30 degrees. Securely hold the oil bottle in place using your other hand as you smash on the cap using your dominant hand. It might take several strikes to completely take off the cap, however, it will fall off because of the force.

Make sure not to crack the oil bottle as you smash it.

The beverage in the oil bottle could begin to foam if it’s carbonated. Be sure to keep it from spilling onto things that you aren’t able to clean.
