How to put coolant in bmw 5 series?
John Campbell
Many people have the luxury of owning an expensive car such as a BMW. As many know, driving can be difficult and may require accidents and repairs. One thing that is very important in any vehicle is to ensure that their coolant levels never run low because it could cause serious damage to the engine. Therefore, here is how to put coolant into your BMW 5 series:
Tools/Parts Needed:
-Clear tubing or rubber hose (3 inches long)
-Coolant 1 gallon container
-Ratchet wrench with 10mm socket head attached
Step 1: Park your BMW on a level surface before beginning this process.
Step 2: Find the coolant reservoir tank located underneath right side of hood compartment near windshield wipers. You may need to remove a black cover on the left of a coolant tank which is a little above from your reach.
Step 3: Once you have located the container, use a wrench to loosen the bolt attached onto it. It should be around 10mm in size. Do not completely detach this bolt as you will need it soon after filling up with your new coolant mixture.
Step 4: Place the end of hose into plastic container and twist cap tightly on. Make sure that hose remains straight and does not bend at an angle because it might create cracks inside hose later on or allow air bubbles to enter radiator through hose connection.
Step 5: Open bottle cap and pour one gallon of coolant fluid into a clear jug/container slowly into the plastic reservoir tank.
Step 6: Now, replace the cap on the coolant reservoir tank and use ratchet wrench to tighten bolt securely. Make sure that you do not over tighten the bolt or you may damage the plastic tank.
Step 7: Finally, reattach black cover on coolant reservoir tank.
You have now successfully put coolant into your BMW 5 series! Be sure to keep an eye on the coolant levels in the future and top it off when needed. Continuing to drive with low levels of coolant can cause serious engine damage down the road so it is always important to stay on top of this Essential car maintenance task! Thanks for reading.
