How To Remove Curry Stains From Clothes

Writer Gabriel Cooper

The most essential aspect of removing a curry stain is to act quickly. The faster you can attack the stain, the simpler you will find it easier to get rid of it. The oily and vibrant colors of curries and other spices such as turmeric could permanently dye a piece of fabric, so make sure to clean it up while the stain is still fresh.

Other methods are:

Lemon

Lemon can be a useful partner in fighting stain removal from turmeric and curry. Here’s how to use it:

Cut a lemon in half and then squeeze it over the stain. Let it rest for a night. Clean your clothes as usual according to the directions in the instructions on the detergent you are using.

Toothpaste

If you don’t have any one of the ingredients listed in this article, chances are you already have a tube of toothpaste in your house.

Dab a small amount of toothpaste on the stain. Take a few hours for the toothpaste to do its magic. The garment should be cleaned as usual.

Laundry detergent

Use a small amount of laundry detergent in liquid form like Persil on the stain and then gently rub it into. It’s crucial to start with around the edge of the stain and then gradually move into the middle. So, you don’t extend the stain any further. Let it sit for 30 minutes or for as long as is indicated on the label of the product. If you see the stains again, then repeat. You might want to let the stain remover remain on the fabric longer than a few hours, or even for a few days. The garment should be washed at a lower temperature.

Glycerine solution

Glycerine is a great cleaning agent, and it’s easy to mix it at home. Make sure to thoroughly soak the stain by using warm water. Combine equal parts water and glycerine. It should be applied to the discolored region. Rinse once more and wash the machine, in the same way, using a bio detergent.
