Rust stains are terrible. They’re worse when they’re spotted in the paint of your white car. They give the impression that the vehicle is old and, worse, abandoned. They are formed by oxidized metal particles from such a rusty area polluting surface water of your vehicle. Water drips over the paintwork before drying, creating rusty blotches on the surface.

How to Remove Minor Surface Rust

For small rust stains, you’ll need an aerosol or liquid rust remover. 

Using the appropriate tape, cover off the rusty area. It’s recommended to use just a few inches of tape to encircle the area.

If any rust remains, wipe it away with sandpaper.

Clean with grease and wax remover soap. After cleaning, allow the air to dry.

Put a layer of primer to an afflicted region. A light to medium layer would work, although three layers are recommended. Allow an hour for this to dry.

How to Get Rid of Major Rust on the Surface

If you’re suffering with much more severe rust concerns, you’ll need to follow this procedure:

Cover the afflicted region of the car with a mask. If you’re going to sand through paint and primer, cover part of the automobile. It will shield you from the extremely small particles.

• Make sure you’ve got your dust mask.
• Clean the surface rust with a grinder.
• While using the grinder, don’t press down really hard.
• Clean the workspace with grease remover.
• Use fiberglass-reinforced body filler to cover gaps and depressions.
• Sand the filling with finer grit sandpaper as needed.
• Tape off the place where you’ll be painting.
• Use a self-etching primer to paint. 
• The region must be treated with many layers of paint.
• When it comes to finishing, 1 or 2 two layers of clear would do.
