How To Remove Salt Stains From Black Leather Boots

Writer Ethan Hayes

Most people believe that salt stains are caused by just walking on salted roads in the winter, but there’s more to it. Because salt is utilized in the tanning process of most leathers, any internal salt rises to the surface of the leather when the shoe is wet, causing the leather to bubble and leaving salt stains. It’s crucial to realize this since it’s not just about eliminating the stain; it’s also about conditioning the leather and avoiding highly moist situations.
