How To Remove Tea Stains From Plastic
Andrew Davis
Tea is a beverage that is loved by a lot of people across the world. However, it is possible to cause brownish stains that are unappealing on your favorite plastic cups or mugs. The usual cleaning techniques that use hot water and dish soap won’t be enough to eliminate this type of stain.

The reason that tea staining is difficult to get rid of from plastic is polymerization. It happens in the event that two molecules come to form a massive molecule.
One molecule can be an organic compound found in the drinks, while the other is oxygen in tea and coffee. If the stain remains in a cup for a period of time, there is more chance for polymerization to take place and the larger the stain gets. If the stain isn’t removed promptly, it will expand in time until the entire cup appears to be completely stained.
The steps to get rid of the tea stain from plastic cups using baking soda:
Cleanse a towel or rag using warm water. Sprinkle two tablespoons of baking soda onto the towel or rag.
Cleanse the cup with a towel or rag and pay careful attention to the spots that have been stained. Cleanse thoroughly and dry after all stained areas have been cleaned.
If this isn’t enough to get your job completed, you can fill the cup with hot liquid and two tablespoons of baking soda.
The solution should rest within the container for 30 mins or up to one hour.
Check the cup for leaks and repeat the test If necessary.
Then rinse the cup well and clean it off once all stain is removed.
