The removal of an RV toilet could be a difficult task for the majority of people, however it’s not rocket science, but you must be cautious not to mess with the broken parts. Toilets in RVs are completely mobile and are installed using nuts and screws. Follow these steps carefully and safely remove your RV toilet

Step 1: Clean the Waste Tank

The first step is to ensure that your RV is placed on a level surface. It is recommended to place the wheels on the sloping side because you don’t want to be a risk to the vehicle moving when you’re busy.
Clean out the waste tank and scrub it by using clean water. While you’re there take care so that the waste you dump into your tank doesn’t spill onto the flooring of your RV.

Step 2: Clean the toilet

Make sure that the power source for the pump’s water supply is turned off so that the running water won’t hinder the flushing process and cause an accident. Then, at the bottom of your RV’s toilet you’ll likely see a plastic lid that protects bolts holding the toilet in position. Lift the lid like you’d have to unbolt the bolts. A towel should be kept around the toilet in the event of a water spillage.

Step 3: Unscrew Bolts

Then, remove the nuts off the bolts. Also, you should be aware that the bolts extend into the toilet’s base. If you notice that the bolts are worn out, you can apply lubricant to them and then wait for a few minutes before lifting them. They will be able to move easily after oiling them.

Step 4: Take out the toilet

Then, go behind the toilet in order to free the water hose connecting your toilet with the water supply. Then, you are able to raise the toilet. If it is stuck, try tilting it until it lifts off the ground. It is now time to take it off and replace it with another one. If you want to put in an RV toilet that is new, reverse the steps. If you’ve made it this far and you’re an expert, you’re DIY-friendly. If you plan to dispose of your toilet, make sure you dispose of it properly. The majority of people dump it in the trash yard or in a secluded area. You can give it to a local company for disposal because they have a specific procedure for disposing of toilets as well as other waste objects.
