Sleep with your head as well as your back slightly elevated, preferably on a recliner, for at least a week after surgery. The risk of swelling is greatest during the first three to four nights. Sleeping in an elevated position will help to control the swelling in your scalp and forehead and speed up your recovery.

Can I sleep on my side after having my hair transplanted?

What is the best sleeping position after a hair transplant? Sleep on your back, upright, with your head and back elevated, ideally at a 45-degree angle. Sleeping on your stomach can harm your transplanted hair and cause swelling.

How long do I have to sleep with my head elevated after a hair transplant?

To reduce the risk of swelling, you must sleep with your head elevated for the first seven days after treatment. Some clients discover that sleeping with their head elevated is all they need for a few days. Keep in mind that not everyone will experience swelling after hair implants.
