How to start your BMW X1 with keyless entry and ignition:
1. Make sure that the engine is turned off and all of the doors are closed.
2. Locate the black plastic key fob in your pocket or purse. The buttons on the fob should be facing up when you hold it in your hand.
3. Press and hold the unlock button on the fob until all of the door locks open (you will hear a chime).
4. Once all of the door locks have opened, release the unlock button and press and hold the lock button until all of the locks have closed (you will also hear a chime).
5. The car is now in keyless entry and ignition mode. To start the engine, press the start/stop button on the dashboard. You will feel a slight vibration from the engine, and then you’re ready to go.
6. To brake, press down on the brake pedal with your left foot. The harder you press, the more quickly your car will stop.
7. To steer, use your right hand to turn the wheel in the direction you want to go. The further you turn it, the faster your car will go. If you want to slow down or stop, release pressure from the wheel.
