How To Tell Your Pastor You Are Leaving The Church
Robert King
Leaving a church is never an easy thing to do, especially when you’ve been going there for a long time. Church is like a family to most people. People are able to make friends and build relationships that can last a long time. So, leaving your church could be one of the hardest thing that you have to do. However, the reason why people leave a church is not always the same nor does it have to be a good or a bad reason either.

If you have a close relationship with the pastor of the church that you attend, then you might feel nervous or afraid to let the passion know that you are planning on leaving the church. It is common for us to want to please others and to not let them down. However, you have to do what’s best for you. At the same time, it’s best that you have a conversation with the Pastor to let he or she know you how you feel or why you’re leaving. If you want to leave on good terms, then this is the best thing for you to do.
Leaving and not saying anything to the pastor will only make things worse for you as it pertains to the relationship that you have with the pastor and members of the church. As long as you are honest and upfront about everything, then your decision to leave should be received in a good way by the church.
Be Thankful
You should also let the Pastor know that you are appreciative of everything that was done for you while you were at the church. It’s good to be thankful and show that you care as well as appreciate your experience at the church. Even if it wasn’t the best experience, it’s still good to be cordial so that you can leave on a good note.
Conclusions
Sometimes leaving a church might feel like leaving a job. You don’t want things to be awkward, so it’s best that you sit down and talk to the pastor or leaders in the church to let them know that you have decided to move on to a different church or to something new in your life. That’s pretty much all that you can do. Everything else is out of your control. You can’t control how people will react or not react. However, as long as you do your part, then everything should be good.
