Is it OK if curtains don’t touch the floor?

Yes, the length of the curtains should reach the floor. There are a few exceptions to this rule, but in general, longer curtains make a room appear more luxurious and stylish. It’s for this reason that most pre-made curtains are long. However, different decorating styles necessitate the use of various curtain lengths.

How much of the curtain should touch the floor?

Aim for a curtain hem that is 3/8″ to 1/2″ above the floor when hanging them. Besides making it easier to measure, this length also makes vacuuming and sweeping a cinch. If you frequently open and close your curtains, this is a great option because you won’t have to reorganize them each time.

Should curtains sit on a window sill?

At the bottom of your window or a few centimeters lower, sill-length drapes cover the majority of your window. Window seats and large window sills, as well as rooms with radiators directly beneath the window, may be ideal settings for this design. In informal, country-style houses and in children’s bedrooms, they are ideal.

Can curtains drag on the floor?

Dragging curtains across the floor can create a tripping hazard and make it easier for dust to accumulate. Curtains that hang just above the floor are ideal. Here’s what you can do about it: Measure from the floor to the point where the curtain rod will be hung. For example, 63-inch curtains are the most common lengths.
