What Baby Earwigs Look Like?

Baby earwigs are lighter in color. Their structure is somehow similar to adult earwigs. They are greyish brown with attachments on their tails like structures. In addition, pinchers are attached to the abdominal part of the body. However, they take 40-60 days to grow properly in 4 different states of molting. Also, the baby earwig has gone through two phases of development. 

Baby earwigs are 1.5-2 inches long, and the size increases as the baby earwig grow. The baby earwigs have pale legs throughout the entire lifespan. Cerci are appendages present in the abdominal portion of the earwig that appears at birth and remains there till death. Wings appeared in the fourth stage of molting. In every stage of molting, an antenna appears on the outer surface of the baby earwig. 

The body of the baby earwig is harder than the adult one. Even 10-12 earwigs / 1 kg wine are added to develop a unique taste. Baby earwigs contain a foul smell as a defense source against several attacks of other species, including fungi and animals. The width of the head capsule protecting the baby earwig is 0.9-1.9 mm, and the length of the baby earwig body ranges from 4mm to 11 mm approximately.
