Caracals are found in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, where they reside on rocky hills or grasslands. The cat is one of about 30 different species of small wild cats. To survive, all cats must consume meat; caracals do eat meat. Caracals hunt at night, but they aren’t choosy about what they consume and will devour whatever they can get their hands on. Caracals are carnivorous animals. Birds, rodents, and tiny antelopes are their primary prey. To aid in the capturing of their prey, caracals maintain their claws sharp. A caracal, like other wild cats, is a carnivore. Because of its speed, it can catch and consume a variety of creatures; they mainly eat the meat of rabbits, birds, snakes, lizards, and sometimes they eat insects.
