Kittens are said to be obligate carnivores, this means that they have to eat meat so that they can survive. In fact, meat is the main thing that kittens eat. At the same time, it doesn’t mean that they can’t or won’t eat plants, fruits, and vegetables because they will. However, meat is what you need to feed them for the most part so that they can survive and be health. I will go over more about what kittens eat in this article.

Insects and Animals

Kittens eat meat, ants, bugs, chicken, birds, bacon, cockroaches, flies, roaches, fish, ham, venison, tuna, shrimp, rats, turkey, and sausage. Kittens can eat eggs, sardines, raw chicken, raw meat, raw fish, Vienna sausage, dried fish, beef jerky, bones, mice, rabbits, skunks, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, prawns, and human food.

Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits can be eaten by kittens. In fact, kittens eat apples, blueberries, bananas, and strawberries, watermelon, vegetables, carrots, grass, green beans, and vegetable oil.

Kittens don’t eat a lot just anything and they can eat at night. Yes, kittens can eat a whole can of food but sure to not over feed them because they don’t eat all the time. Yes, kittens can eat as soon as they are born, usually 1-2 hours after being born.

Kittens will eat bread, cat food, biscuits, but it’s best to wait until they are mature. Also, kittens eat cat litter, catnip, cheese, dry food, goldfish crackers, potatoes, ice cream, vanilla ice cream, wet food, treats, dry kibble, and popcorn. Additionally, kittens eat smoked salmon, hard food, ground beef, mulch, rice, milk, quinoa, plants, homemade food, hamsters, poop, and vegemite.

What Kittens Don’t Eat

As far as what they shouldn’t eat, kittens don’t eat clumping litter, dogs, dog food, french fries, fish bones, grapes, plastic, paper, wires, small toys, gravy, garlic, honey, peanut butter, raw eggs, or human breast milk. Rat poison will harm kittens. Vanilla yogurt and greek yogurt are fine for kittens to eat.
