Owls are wise animals because of their high-visionary senses at night. Owls are categorized as birds that are from the phylum of “Chordata.” It occurs with around 200 plus different species. Owl eyes are famous around the globe due to their excellent binocular vision.

Owls can move their head in a 360 dimension which gives them a superb flying speed. However, they are sensitive to light. That’s why they are spotted at night on trees. 

What Owls Look Like?

An owl has a large face with huge eyes covering a significant part of the owl’s face. It also has ear holes and a beak. The body of an owl is covered with soft and shiny feathers which exist in different colors. Most owls have brown, grey, white, and light yellow feather that gives them a distinctive appearance. Owls can vary in length; however, a small owl is 13.5 cms, weighing up to 31 grams. However, these statistics may vary for different species of owls. 

Its body is similar to that of a bird, and most owls have a prominent white face, noticeable from a great distance. As it has smooth feathers, you won’t hear them flying. This characteristic also helps to hunt their prey without getting in trouble. Owls have long legs which are hidden beneath their thick feathers. Owls also have three eyelids to clean and protect their eyes.

Some individuals believe that an owl is a sign of bad luck as it causes death, but this is a myth. This myth is associated with an owl due to its uneven sleeping pattern where the owl sleeps all day and wakes up in the night. These are rumors spread through different concepts and cultures, but these are only myths! Do remember.
