What Is The Best Flooring For Bunnies?
Caleb Butler
What should I put on the floor of my rabbit cage?
Paper, cardboard, and hay are all good options for a cage or hutch’s floor. It’s likely that you already have a few of these around the house. Feathers, marmoleum, and wood are all good options as well.
What do you put under a rabbit pen?
They prefer wire cages because they can place a litter pan underneath. The bunny needs something to stand or lie on, so make sure to include a tile, piece of wood, or cardboard. Your rabbit’s paws can be damaged and irritated if you stand on the wire floor by yourself.
Is vinyl flooring safe for rabbits?
Absolutely! For added security, cut the wood and vinyl to be slightly larger than the pen so that a lip of a few inches (or several centimeters) extends on each side.
Do rabbit hutches need to be off the ground?
To deter predators and keep the hutch’s base dry, the hutch should be elevated on legs. In order to keep the hutch dry, the roof should be sloping and covered with roofing felt.
