Ink would freeze at a temperature of about 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Broken pens are a possibility. Similar to how frozen ink can cause ink bottles to crack.
Does cold temperature affect printer ink?
The ink in the cartridge thickens in cold temperatures. For example, thicker, colder inks will prevent the thermal inkjet process from working properly. The opposite happens when the temperature rises. The ink thins out, making printing unreliable and messy.
