What to do with trampoline in winter

Writer Caleb Butler

There are many things you can do with a trampoline in winter, I will enumerate some of them.

People often ask themselves the question, How to keep kids busy in winter? Here are some suggestions.

1) Keep it inside your garage or storage room. This is not a very good option because if you want to use it again, the first thing you need to do is to bring it from the storage room to the backyard. Then you need to find a way to clean it.

2) Another option is to disassemble the trampoline and store it in a basement somewhere for the winter season. This is quite common practice in Quebec, Canada that during winters we have very short days, everybody goes inside by 3 o’clock when night comes. In my childhood, I remember waking up at 5 am when it was almost dark outside, getting dressed, and going outside to play on our trampoline until 8 am when morning came up. If your trampoline has no safety netting, you can spread it under a tree in your backyard where birds could use as their shelter during the winter season. If your tree falls down due to the heavy snow that accumulates on its branches, don’t blame me because my suggestion was just that!

4) Another idea is to drain the water out of it at the end of the summer season. This way, the trampoline will last longer. But if you do this, make sure your kids are not around when you open it because water might come out of its springs and people might get hurt.

5) The best option for me is to rent my trampoline to a rich family who doesn’t have anything else to do in their summer house during the winter season except watch TV or play with their X-Box! When they call me at the beginning of December they’re telling me that my suggestion was very helpful because without my “trampolining services” they would just sit there doing nothing all day long!
