WHAT WHEELS FIT FORD EXPLORER?

Writer John Campbell

The Ford Explorer is a full-size SUV. The body style has been in production since the late 1990s, and Ford Motor Company initially produced it as a successor to the Bronco II. The Explorer is based on the Ford F-150 and shares its chassis, engine, and drivetrain with the F-150. The Explorer features an extended wheelbase and increased interior space over its predecessor.

The Explorer currently comes in three trim levels: XLT, XLT Sport, and Limited. They all feature power windows and locks, cruise control, leather upholstery, and a trip computer. The XLT features a 6.0-liter V8 engine with 305 horsepower and a 6-speed automatic transmission; all models come standard with air conditioning and heated seats. The XLT Sport also includes some unique features such as 18-inch alloy wheels and fog lamps; it also comes standard with a remote start system.

Ford Explorer wheels come in a variety of sizes and styles. The most common wheel size is 17 inches, a standard size for most Ford Explorers.

The following are the most common wheel sizes for Ford Explorer:

17-inch rims: 17-inch rims are found on the base model Ford Explorer and many models of the SVT Raptor. They are also used on some Ford F-150s with 17-inch rims.

18-inch rims: 18-inch rims are found on most mid-range trim models of the Ford Explorer and some of the SVT Raptor models. They can be ordered in any color or finish you choose.

19-inch rims: 19-inch wheels were only available in white or black from 2007 to 2013 and were only offered on high-performance models such as the Shelby GT500 or Shelby GT350R Mustang. The 19-inch wheels were discontinued due to low sales numbers for these high-performance vehicles.
