When Your Boyfriend Wants To Be Friends

When your boyfriend expresses an interest in becoming friends, what should you do?
Silky Terrier Dog Breed Playing Aro... Silky Terrier Dog Breed Playing AroundI wouldn’t call what you’re going through unusual or extraordinary. People who have been in long-term relationships confront a similar, if not identical, the scenario at some point in their lives.
It’s an ancient saying that if a bird escapes its cage and doesn’t return, it’s either because it was never intended to be there in the first place or because it just wants to be free of captivity.
This is the moment to ask yourself whether you truly want to keep on like this or if you want to take the risk of calling it off since your future is uncertain. Second, you’ve fallen into a rut and built a cocoon around yourself that you need to break away from. You’ve become emotionally and physically too reliant on your partner.
If you’re aware that no one likes you, you’ll also be aware of the reasons behind this. Try to resolve this and move on to other opportunities/a new partner. The world is full of them; all you have to do is go out and explore.
I would just advise that you and your partner take a break and just be friends. Check to see whether he really feels the gap left by your absence in his life, or if you just don’t matter to him.
If you were previously in a committed relationship and he now wants to be friends with you, it’s understandable that you’d want to speak with him. Make him realize why this is going to harm you. You don’t have to be afraid to take control and speak your thoughts. If he insists on becoming buddies, tell him you won’t be able to work with him. You don’t have to put your happiness in jeopardy.
