Who makes fabuloso? - Kylon Powell

Writer Gabriel Cooper

Colgate-Palmolive Co. is launching two prominent Mexican brands to Hispanic markets in the United States, using its Latin American strength to overcome its second-tier position in the laundry and cleaning categories in the United States. Colgate started delivering its Suavitel fabric softener and Fabuloso hard-surface cleaners produced in Mexico to the United States.

I’m a scent connoisseur. I’m enthralled with the experience. Cleanliness is something I’m passionate about. Fabuloso® was developed in 1980 in Venezuela, a place where the sense of smell is an important aspect of Latino communication. At the time, cleaning products were not very fragrant. However, in the Latino culture, it was vitally essential to enter into someone’s home and smell clean in order to indicate how well a lady cared for her home and her family. Women complained that after a long day of cleaning, the all-important “clean” scent would vanish just as their husbands arrived home. Added to their never-ending efforts!

Fabuloso® is another option. People fell in love with the sparkling clean surfaces and distinctive, uplifting fragrances—fragrances like passion fruit, ocean paradise, and lavender—the moment this residue-free, the multi-surface cleaner came into their homes. Not to mention how long the scents would remain! With Fabuloso®, their hard work and attention could be sensed the minute someone entered their house.

Since then, Fabuloso® has grown to become a brand for everybody who values their house and wants it to shine. To have a pleasant odor. Have a nice time. To make others happy.

Fabuloso® was introduced to the United States in 1996, and it quickly became a bestseller, standing out on the shelf from the normal drab cleansers with its zingy rainbow of colors and, of course, fun smells.

Because everyone has tile flooring, these perfumed cleansers are quite popular. The purple Fabuloso product “Lavanda” or “Lavender” is the most frequent scent. It’s a distinct odor that’s gotten ingrained in the culture here.
