Drama

If there is drama in a church, then it’s definitely not going to grow. Most people don’t like drama at all and don’t want to be involved in anything that looks like it. On the other hand, there are people who live for the drama. They love to stir up problems in the church and have issues with other members. These are all recipes for disaster. When these things happen,  it’s only going to stunt the growth of the church. People will leave churches because of drama and not getting along with other people in the church. So, if your church isn’t growing, you might want to see if there is any kind of drama or issues  taking place that you don’t know about.

Gossip

Gossiping is actually one of the worst things that can happen to a church. Unfortunately, we live in a world where people gossip all the time. Gossip will happen in church and also outside of church. It’s never a good thing when people are talking about each other and spreading lies and rumors. These are some of the things that the Bible is against. Gossip can lead to arguments and all kinds of problems that are simply not good for a church at all. Oftentimes, gossip is one of the main reasons why churches don’t grow because because it will lead to members leaving and going elsewhere.

Lack of Leadership

It is up to the leaders of the church to preach the word of God, inspire people, motivate them, and lead them in the right path so that they can grow in their faith. Also, leadership has to deal with any drama or issues that is dividing church members. If the pastors or ministers and other leaders aren’t doing this, then it’s only going to negatively affect the church and lead to a further decline.

Final Thoughts

Each church is different, so the reason why a church isn’t growing can be different from church to church. However, drama, gossiping, and a lack of leadership are all common reasons as to why churches don’t grow. Additionally, if churches don’t have out reach programs where they’re actually trying to spread the gospel and invite people to church, then that will play a role in the church not going as well.
