If you look at the product description of these systems on the Akrapovic website, they will say things like “off-road use only” or “for closed course competition use only” (or something along those lines). 

They also have a full line of “street legal” exhausts designed for street use. It is perfectly fine for track use. 

These exhausts look almost identical to the non-street legal version. With just a few cosmetic changes for the catalytic converter mounts.

Although the Akrapovic slip-on exhausts are available for street and track use. Only the “evolution” line of slip-on is intended for off-road use. The other versions of Akrapovic exhausts are street legal and can be used on your bike as long as it’s registered in your state.

Unfortunately, the Akrapovic systems are not legal in the USA and also not in some other countries, including the UK and Japan. If you want to check if your country’s system is street legal, it’s best to contact Akrapovic directly.

They both make excellent exhausts designed to be street legal and will not require additional modifications to use on a public road.
