There are alligators in Lake Conroe, Lake Livingston, and Lake Fork, just to name a few popular fishing and water recreation areas, as well as evidence of alligator mating behavior. Alligator sightings are possible in the area around the city of Longview, Texas, so keep an eye out for the reptiles.

Can you swim in Lake Fork Texas?

Since the majority of the lake is made up of standing timber, you’ll need to keep an eye out for buoys that indicate open water. You may be able to get to some good water for swimming or boarding if you use the open lanes. Open water near the dam is ideal for tubing, boarding, or skiing. The stumps are everywhere, so be careful.
