Can you change a deer mount?
For the OP, yes, you can remove the antlers from a finished mount and replace them with new antlers. Rehydrating the top of the head and cutting the stitches would necessitate removing the skull cap and antlers.
How long does a deer mount last?
Taxidermy can last for decades if it is cared for properly. Your new mount should be stored in a dry area with low or no humidity, and in a temperature-controlled room.
