Can God Break A Promise?
John Campbell
God Doesn’t Break Promises
Considering that God is perfect in all his ways, he does not break promises. So, no, God cannot break a promise. The reason for this is that God honors his word. In other words, when God says he’s going to do something he will do it. Also, if God says that he won’t do something, then he won’t do it. That is how amazing God is that he’s able to keep all of his promises that he makes to his people. You can even see this in the Bible which clearly shows that God does not break promises and that he always follows through on the things that he says he’s going to do.
We Break Promises
Unfortunately, human beings are not like this at all. It is very easy for us to make promises and don’t keep them. In fact, people make promises all the time and never keep them. Also, sometimes people have no intention of keeping the promises that they make, which would make them out to be a liar. That’s just the way that we are as human beings. Some people will even make a promise but sometimes for whatever reason aren’t able to fulfill that promise even if it’s not intentional. It just shows us that we are not perfect and that we make mistakes.
God Is Not A Man
However, that is not the case for God at all. Understand that God is not a man that he should lie, so he’s not going to break any of the promises that he makes. God honors his word and will make sure that anything that he says comes to pass.
Conclusions
You can definitely count on God to keep his promises. He’s not going to go against his word, instead, he will honor his word every single time. That you can count on for sure.
