Can God Erase Memories? - Kylon Powell

Writer Rachel Davis

Yes, God can erase memories. I say this because nothing is impossible for God. However, one must understand how the brain works. Everything that we look at or think about is stored in our brains. That’s right, our brains have an unlimited hard drive storage in a sense.

Our brains really don’t forget anything that we’ve heard or seen. In fact, the majority of our experiences are stored deep within our subconscious mind. So, even if you don’t remember something right away, it is still there and can come back to you at some other point in your life.

At the same time, there are some memories that I’m sure we’d all like to forget. Some experiences are not good at all and can cause trauma for us. Perhaps, you’ve experienced something bad or hurtful that you’d like to forget. It is possible to deal with those memories seeing that they aren’t good ones.

However, there is no way to just erase a memory out of your brain. Even though God could erase a memory, that is not something that God is known to do. There aren’t any cases of people’s memory being completely erased because they prayed to God for this to happen. It is possible, however, it is not likely to happen.

If anything, you can get treatment or therapy to deal with anything traumatic that has happened in your life. There are ways that you can suppress a memory so that it’s not bothering you as much. There are even some things that you can do to yourself.

You simply have to focus on positive things and change the things that you think about. You have to try to not focus on the past or negative experiences that resulted in you having these memories that you so badly want to erase.

Conclusions

We all have memories that we want to forget and never think about ever again. You could pray to God and ask him to help you get over the memories or experiences. He can help you heal and not dwell on the past.

Additionally, you can seek help from a professional that can help you better suppress the memories as well. Even though I said that God can erase memories, which he can. It’s just that God does not work that way for certain things. God is more likely to put people in your life that can help you deal with those memories.
