Most highlighter pens include water-soluble ink, which implies that washing the stained area of the fabric in water quickly would probably remove a lot of the color. Keep in mind, however, that Marker highlighters do not really have water-soluble ink.

The simplest approach to remove highlighter stains off of clothes is to use rubbing alcohol, sanitizer, or specialized ink removers on the stain right away. The stain could also be removed by rubbing it with washing detergent or a dry-cleaning product. In certain cases, salt water or vinegar combined with a baking solution would suffice.

Highlighter stains can be easily removed using vinegar cornstarch and baking soda.

Try to use the vinegar method!

To begin, gently soak the afflicted region in vinegar. After that, combine Three tablespoons baking soda or cornstarch with 1 tablespoon vinegar. To make a paste, mix all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.

Stir the paste into the highlighter ink with your finger or even a tissue . The paste must, in fact, create a thick layer well over the entire damaged region. If you really need extra paste, add a bit more vinegar and baking soda to the mixture.

Let the fabric sit for at least one night. The paste should be dry and grainy in the morning. Remove the flaking bits by shaking them off.

Now, with your normal detergent, put the item in the washing machine. Make a thorough examination of the item for any remaining color.
