Writer Emily Cortez

Can you add a new clownfish at different times?

Even if they’re different colors, the two percs are fine. When you mix different kinds of organisms, you may encounter difficulties.

Can I add another pair of clownfish to my tank?

It’s a possibility because the tank is quite large. Get an acclimation box as a precaution and use it as an introduction. Keep in mind that the clowns may pair up in a different way than you had planned. This means that if you decide to add two more clowns, they should be smaller than your current pair.

Can you add a third clownfish?

With only two clownfish to contend with, a third is doomed to succumb to its smaller companions in such a small aquarium. They might do better if you added two or four more people.

Can you keep more than one pair of clownfish?

Ocellaris and sexless clownfish can be added to the tank with no problem. I had four Ocellaris clownfish in my 40-pound breeder, and they all got along fine once they figured out who was in charge. The rest of the group will remain sexless as long as an adult couple is present.

How many clownfish can I put in a 55 gallon tank?

It’s best to keep just one or two clownfish in each tank unless you have a very large one. It’s best to add small clowns all at once if you want multiple clownfish.
