Silky Terrier Dog Breed Playing AroundWild chickens on Kauai, also known as the Garden Island, are referred to as “Kauai chickens.” The Red Junglefowl and various domestic chicken breeds are crossed to create these hybrids. There is a large population of wild Kauai chickens, much to the delight of tourists but much to the chagrin of locals.
Since there are so few predatory animals on the island to worry about, their population keeps on growing. If you want to, you can eat the eggs from Kauai’s wild chickens. If you’re looking for reasons to be optimistic, here are a few of them. Wild eggs, which are free-range eggs, have several advantages over cage-raised eggs.
They’re also free, which is an added incentive. Even though eggs are inexpensive, obtaining something for free is always beneficial to spending for it. After all course, that’s only correct if it is completely legal. The third reason is that you’re helping to slow the already overpopulated army of wild chickens in some small measure.
Some islanders strongly oppose harming the chickens in order to reduce their population, but the problem is widely acknowledged. If you want to look at it that way, taking their eggs is the most humane solution.
