Frozen Gouda Cheese is less likely to lose its flavor and texture than soft Gouda Cheese. In order to preserve the flavor of your cheese, we recommend freezing it for no more than six months at a time.

How long does Gouda cheese last in the fridge?

Opened blocks of Gouda and Gruyère can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two months, and in the freezer for up to three weeks.

How do you store a block of Gouda cheese?

The parchment or waxed paper can be wrapped loosely in plastic wrap or a plastic bag, and then placed in an airtight container. Wrapping a large block or wheel of cheese (more than three pounds) in damp cheesecloth, followed by loose plastic wrap, is a good option for long-term storage.

Can I freeze Havarti cheese?

After several months in the freezer, the cooking properties and flavors of many cheeses are not significantly altered. Cheddar, Havarti, and Gouda are all excellent cheeses for cooking because they can withstand storage at freezing temperatures without losing any of their flavor.
