Can You Glue Hardwood Flooring To Osb?

Hardwood installations can be glued down, nailed or stapled to OSB. Glue-down hardwood flooring should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Some argue that water-based adhesives pose a risk to both the wood substrate and the flooring because of the potential for the glue to absorb moisture.

Can you install hardwood flooring over OSB?

All movement must be corrected before installing hardwood flooring because it will not stabilize the OSB subfloor. There should be at least a 1/8-inch gap between OSB subfloor panels, and no fasteners should be visible.
