Yes, you can hear mice squeak. It’s likely that you’ve heard mice make noises, but you’d be shocked to discover that they’re actually extremely loud creatures. The problem is that they do not stomp into your front door screaming “MOUSE IN THE HOUSE!” Sometimes they create an eerie sound inside the walls, while other times, they release loud squeaks. Mice aren’t that different from humans, since they’re also social creatures. They use sounds to convey emotions as well as to indicate with other rodents to find water, food sources and shelter. They make scratching sounds as they search for food, or even gnawing sounds when they come across something delicious such as cords or wires to chew on. You’ll probably hear them as they run and skim around your house looking for readily accessible food items, like an entire bowl filled with dog foods, food that aren’t sealed or a garbage can with no lid.
