Can You Love God And Still Sin?

Writer Sarah Silva

No One Is Perfect

Just because you love God does not mean that you won’t sin. I say this because no one is perfect. That’s right, we all make mistakes on a daily basis. This is a part of life as well as our fallen nature. Seeing that no one is perfect, you will make mistakes. Even if you don’t intend to do something that is wrong, it can still happen. This is the reason why God says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Based on this, we will all make mistakes in some way shape or form in our lives on a daily basis. We can even do things that are wrong that we’re not even aware of. So, you can still love God and still sin. In other words, just because you sin does not mean that you don’t love God.

Willingly Sin

As believers, we should not intentionally sin against God. It’s one thing to be struggling with something and make an attempt to do what is right. However, willfully are intentionally doing something that we know to be wrong is not a good thing. This is exactly the kind of thing that you should avoid doing. If you love God, then you will think about the things that you do and not want to do them at all. It doesn’t mean that you won’t make mistakes, however, the desire to please God will be there.

Conclusions

You should not intentionally sin against God. Instead, you should live by his word and keep his commandments. Even though you love God, you will still end up sinning against God in some way shape or form because of the nature that is inside of all of us. No one is perfect. However, we need God’s love, grace, and mercy to make it in this life.
