You can open two projects at the same time, but I haven’t been able to transfer files between them yet. GarageBand Copy (or something similar) is the method I use to open two projects at the same time. You can then switch between the two versions to work on different projects.

Only one movie file can be included in a project. The movie can be viewed in a Movie window floating above the desktop, and the movie frames can be seen in the Movie track as well. As soon as you start the project, the movie starts playing and moves in sync with where the playhead is.
