A lot would depend on the kind of glass you’re working with. Starting at 40 F (fridge) or 70 F (room) isn’t much of a difference if the oven is at 300 F. 30 F isn’t going to cause a problem if the glass is oven safe, right?
Is it bad to heat up cold glass?
Despite the fact that most glass can be heated in a microwave, it is not recommended to use cold glass in a microwave. The rapid temperature changes in a high-powered microwave will shatter chilled glass.

Definitely. Even better, if you’re only reheating food in the oven (like a casserole) and not baking, you can simply place a cold dish in a preheated oven and let it heat up together.
