Do you use FURminator on wet or dry hair?
You can brush your pet at any time, whether it is wet or dry. In addition to brushing, you can use a detangling spray or a shampoo to control hair loss.
When should I use my FURminator?
Once or twice per week, for 10-20 minutes each time, we suggest using the FURminator deShedding Tool. During periods of heavy shedding, you may find yourself using the deShedding Tool more frequently. The deShedding Tool’s instructions should be read thoroughly before each use. You should also make sure that your dog’s coat is free of tangles and mats.
Should I brush my dog’s hair wet or dry?
When your dog’s coat is dry, it’s best to brush them. The removal of mats is made more difficult and time consuming when hair is wet. Let your dog’s coat dry completely before brushing him after a bath.
Can I let my dog air dry?
To avoid fungus growth in between the paw pads or under the armpits, and more serious problems like an ear infection, air drying is usually discouraged. Leaving a dog’s long hair or undercoat to air-dry can lead to matting of the fur and other skin issues, such as hot spots.
Does bathing a dog make shedding worse?
When your dog’s fur starts shedding, your first reaction is to give him a bath. After he’s shampooed, lathered, rinsed, dried, and brushed, you may notice an increase in shedding. There is no new hair growth on him, but all the rubbing and scratching may speed up the natural process of hair shedding.
